TCG-SCM Office Building. Architectural Design Competition | Weak Insert

The building as:
– A vehicle of the conventions of Architecture, of the conventions of the lines of architectural design which are brought to the attention of technology;
– A subtle addition, a weak insert to the solid and uniformly built urban tissue of Thessaloniki; an implicit protest against the multitude of rectangular volumes/residential blocks made of reinforced concrete, against the lack of vital, positive emotional tensions the city ought to provoke.

The metal construction, the extensive glazings and the lightweight partition walls, the extensive lines/joints traversing the building, as projections and “refinements” of the technical world.
