Anemos Bar | Displacements of Axes
The bar floats on the sandy ground, fifty metres from the coastline. Between two longitudinal walls, the wind blows and restructures sequences and limits of construction materials, meanings, functions. The bridging between the two longitudinal walls is made using nine composite steel load-bearing structures which are visible on top of the roof, while the bridging between those load-bearing structures is made using solid woodwork. By increasing the distancing between the wood planks at the endings of these structures the sunshades are created, while a solid core made of reinforced concrete, at the back, seems as if it can still move between fixed vanishing points, between fixed parallels and secondary axes.
Floating roof; floating floors; changing boundaries between the interior and the exterior pf the building; a floating meaning.
Dimitris Manios
