Filoxenidis Bookshop | The Line As Joint
A line, slightly inclined in relation to the axes of the rectangular plan, penetrates the interior of the bookshop. The line is composed of the endings of the protective walls, the blind endings and the open sides of the bookcases, the limits of the suspended ceiling, the metal loft, the limits of the entrances to the two almost identically planned “niches of knowledge”.
Thus, a joint is implemented between the different types of furnishings, the different types of construction materials, between the geometrical shapes, the functional needs, the possibilities for the display of the tools of knowledge.
