ΑΓ 406 Open Bundles of Lines 1 | 2005-2016
Experimental design. Bundles of lines, as well as contours appearing thereupon, are the extended substrates where representations unfold. We move about a space predominated by traces in their unity, traces as an open unit.
We inquire into representations, into their formulations as representations of Architecture and Visual representations in the interior of a bundle of lines, inasmuch lines open up in space, limitless as they are. We inquire into architectural design as a principle, as a limitless principle in the limitlessness of its lines.
“Architectural design, before developing into a composing, decomposing, diagrammatic or other procedure, before even proceeding to an initial processing of local data, is committed to its lines. If we are to regard architectural design as a defining principle, an all- and self- collecting principle [συλλέγουσα αρχή], this commitment is not simple. Architectural design is but its own lines which transverse space; its lines as primary and integral indicators of every meaning conveyed and every limit in space. The lines of architectural design unify, they are (its) primary symbols before any and all formation. As such, from its very first lines, design is, or ought to be, complete”.
